Planning Supervisor

The role of Planning Supervisor was created under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994 to monitor and improve health and safety issues in respect of construction and building works.

The client has a statutory responsibility to appoint a person of competence in the role of Planning Supervisor to ensure that all aspects of health and safety regarding both the design and the management of a qualifying building project are considered and implemented.

YMD Boon Ltd, acting as Planning Supervisor, is experienced in providing the following services:-

  • Notifying the Health and Safety Executive of the project.
  • Advising the client on the competence of the designers involved in the project.
  • Ensuring liaison between all designers on health and safety issues.
  • Making sure that designers comply with their duties.
  • Co-ordinating the preparation of the pre-tender Health and Safety Plan.
  • Advising the client on the competence of the contractors to be used in executing and managing the works.
  • Advising the client on the suitability of the contractor’s Health and Safety Plan to ensure that all aspects of health and safety have been properly addressed to enable construction works to commence.
  • Ensuring that the Employer’s Health and Safety File is prepared and contains the appropriate information.
